Japan-based flower artist Makoto Azuma collaborated with Unitika Ltd. to create an indoor glade at the 2009 Milan Furniture Fair that is a completely biodegradable system. The planter portion of this moss carpet system is made from plant-derived polylactic acid fiber that decomposes in 10 years leaving only CO2 and water that will be absorbed by plants in the end. Very cool and very earth conscious. Original article from Inhabitat.
