I always wanted an outline of a car to drive around. So low profile! 🙂
ARTIKCAR by Ben Wilson is a pedal-powered vehicle. Inspired by a wooden toy car. The frame is made of steel tubing with an illuminated frame. Lean to steer.

I can now water my jewelery! I love rings and thought this was a really cute idea. Designer, Hafsteinn Juliusson, has made a line of jewelery called “Growing Jewelery” that incorporates growing moss in a silver ring setting. They are limited edition and supposedly the moss can last up to 12 weeks if cared for properly. Jewelery + Gardening! Mist, mist. mist! Fun and quirky idea. 🙂

A little trick I learned recently from Julia Child’s cookbook that I have. If you don’t have white wine to cook with or don’t know which one to pick, dry vermouth is a perfect substitute. I tried this out with the mushroom risotto recipe I posted on an earlier posting and it worked PERFECTLY! The risotto was delicious and flavorful! I often forget to pick up the white wine when cooking risotto, but with this new vermouth substitute, it’s easier to just buy a bottle and keep it in the cupboard. For less than $10 it’s a good choice that you can use to cook with serveral times before running out. Chose to use the Noilly Prat brand of dry vermouth and it worked out well for me. Tasty risotto. YUM!
Union Square was double booked on Monday as a “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” game launch party went on til midnight along with a “Marriage equality” protest next to it. Mini war for attention!! Protesters armed with candles and gamers armed with their new game. Who won? Probabaly the gamers. Lol. Don’t really know because I was too busy with a deadine at work to notice.

Shoes designed from bread by R&E Praspaliauskas. The kid sized ones are the cutest-made from little buns. Don’t think I’ll be eating them after they are worn, but I’ll feed them to the pigeons at least.

Today dancing elves took over Union Square by the 100s. I think they escaped from Santa’s workshop. (or they are shooting an Office Max Commercial which is the rumor). Yesterday it was dancing santas, today it was dancing elves and John Cusack-Say Anything wannabes. I hope tomorrow is reindeers.
They start with a little break dancing and break out into large choreographed dancing (above).
They look like they are getting ready to dance Thriller, but instead break out into a howdown dance.

Awesome sugar skull decorating at Dave and Hannah’s Dia de los Muertos soup night. A night of friends, costumes, food, and tasty pumpkin soup with a kick from the chipotle. Great soup night guys! The blank sugar skulls ready to be decorated (above).

My decorated skull. The eyes have a little bling in them. 🙂 (above)
Jeff’s skull. Has a little henna-esque feel to it.
